On July 14, 2023, at 2.35 p.m. IST, LVM3 M4 successfully launched Chandrayaan-3 into orbit from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre , Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, India.

On August 23, 2023, India becomes the first country to successfully perform a soft landing of a spacecraft at the south pole of the moon.

Previous soft landings on Moon's surface had only been accomplished by the United States, Russia, and China. As of right now, India is ranked fourth in the world.

Like the Chandrayaan-2 mission, Chandrayaan-3 also comprises of a lander named Vikram and a rover named Pragyan.

All colleges, universities, and other educational institutions in the country were urged to actively promote the Chandrayaan-3 mission to their students and staff and to organise on-site LIVE streaming of the Chandrayaan-3 soft landing.
